About Us

Mission Statement:

Extinction Rebellion Youth Charlotte is a local chapter of the global environmental movement Extinction Rebellion, which was founded in the UK. XR Youth Charlotte functions as a nonpartisan, nonhierarchical group of passionate youth that work closely together as leaders with the stated aim of using non-violent civil disobedience to compel government action. XR works to avoid climate tipping points, biodiversity loss, and the risk of social and ecological collapse alongside other youth climate organizations, and organizes global strike days and direct action events.
